How to succeed in athletics.

  • Greg Hoffman: How'd you do?
  • Trevor Hoffman: I went 2-for-4, double, RBI.
  • Greg Hoffman: That'll be the last fucking time you tell me how you did. When I ask you how you did, it's how the team did.

For many Chicagoans, like myself, it’s that time of the year in the windy city when it’s far from below zero temperatures, Santa isn’t here, asking if you were naughty or nice, and we finally get to take that much needed break from shoveling our cars out from 10 inches of dirty snow.  (Side note: One year my Jeep sat covered, snowed in on the street, for a week in a half until it finally melted off.  Lazy?  Nope, more like: Don’t care to throw my back out just to drive 5mph to the 7-11 down the block).

Move to Chicago. I’ll marry you, and you can become a US citizen (and I can get one from NZ, I hope) and we’ll just figure the rest out. I smile a lot, and that’s contagious.

Well that sounds a little bit amazing. Can we have cats and go to Disneyland a lot?

Sure. I’m a ways a way from Disneyland, but we can make it work.

The Channel 4 News alternative league table shows the levels of debt within the Premier League (based on most recent figures available) and does not even take into account this season’s most recent epic spending. While clubs’ total spend and debt accumulation does not correlate exactly with their position based on points, the big spenders float towards the top and the teams that actually make a profit are in the minority.

This table his a bit misleading, however. Most of, it not almost all of United’s debt is due to the way the Glazers took over the club, and not reflective of their buying/selling habits.

“So they are going to retconn a “significant”  character into being gay.  I oppose this.  Not because we don’t need more representation of queer, trans, Non-sexualized women, different body types or POC in comics, because We Do.  I don’t think destroying an existing canon by another creator is respectful.  Blue Beetle was a great way to do it, same name but respects the memory of Ted Kord without ripping him off.   My fear is that they will cater to the shippers and fan girls and Tim Drake will be the one tapped for this.  I would have no issue if his character evolved and realized  he had feeling that might cause him to identify as bi…but if you flip a switch and just make him Gay, ignoring all his previous relationships like with Steph, I would be really disappointed.  We need more “Batwoman”s and less rubberstamp diversity. “
